Is This Obama Drama, or Vendor Bender?

OK, our new man is Obama. What will it mean for traditionalist freedom lovers, supporters of the intended sense of the 2nd Amendment, and the ‘Right’ or nearly ‘Right’? Who knows – but I personally have to judge by action versus assumption – especially now that the deed is done.

Here is what is really tweaking me though – EVERY firearm vendor and distributor in the US is using the political change to sound the death trumpet for our rights – “BETTER get yer guns n’ bullets before Obama takes ‘em.” WTF. Yes WTF.!!!

Are we just going to roll over and give up our rights and beliefs? Hell no, we will support candidates who will help, we will write letters, we will put pressure on those we can in the diplomatic, DEMOCRATIC way we can – while we still have those rights.

Come on vendors, quit frightening the public – teach them to embrace their rights and sell with integrity and by securing the future of your businesses. Don’t cry ‘Huns’ for a quick buck.

I know that panic buying is a bit normal given the circumstances – but STOP flaming the fire.

Teach, instruct, guide and LEAD the public about the virtues of our beliefs and then sell ‘em.

Don’t Rest On Recent Victories

Yes, the DC vs. Heller case was great. Locally, The MO repeal of the suppressor ban is fabulous as is the axe of permits for handguns. Do you realize it’s been 4 years since the AW Ban sunset? Plus, numerous other small victories in between…

DO NOT BE FOOLED!

This election looks to be the scariest of all with respect to our civil liberties. 2nd Amendment and beyond…

The New Threat:
Let’s just call him B.O.B. for short. Does anyone really trust this guy? His voting record for civil liberties is horrendous. He’s all flash, Bill Clinton with new clothes.

Current Landscape:
No, I don’t think our current Chief has done very well in the large scheme of things – BUT – I do feel he believed in what he was doing, and, even though laced with parody-ready character flaws, he has enough moral background to be a ‘safer’ man that B.O.B. will be.

Rant:
B.O.B. did beat the Wicked Witch of the Northeast, I think that was good, Evil2 beats Evil1 – but the new problem is, I don’t think anybody is even running against him now. B.O.B. is all over the news, Mac is nowhere – WTF? And Mac, well he’s a piece of political work too.

Short of it is, as I look through my life of voting choices, it’s been one pair of buffoons after another. Piss on Harvard/Yale and the Media buying our leadership! I want real people who give a damn about other real people. Not pampered sons (and daughters) of the rich that get to pick over our rights and freedoms like political chess pieces. Slide one down the board, take another piece off the table.

Until we ‘mericans’ can realize that Britney Spears is a waste of time, Justin Timber-who is just a singer, and basically that Elvis really is dead – we’re going to continue to be manipulated by these fools and the monster machine they’ve wrapped around our wonderful, once-free country. We focus on the WRONG stuff!

WARNING:
Your rights are again in jeopardy, and I don’t know even who to tell you to avoid, besides B.O.O.B. (Yes, I intended to put the extra ‘O’ in there – we’ll use his marketing against him here…). This election may very well be lost, EVEN if B.O.B. loses.

Here’s what we may expect:
• B.O.B. believes in the no semi-auto ‘sportsman’ angle – ughh, can you say ‘bans-a-plenty’?
• B.O.B. may get to appoint 2-4 Supreme Court Justices in his potential term(s), remember – Heller was only won 5-4
• B.O.B. is a Chicago thinker, the armpit of the otherwise lovely state of IL – socialist corruption capitol of the midwest
• B.O.B. is all about ‘change’ – what is he going to change? – You think he’ll pull our jobs back in the US, send the illegals back home, lessen our dependency on sand-drilled oil – dream on. He’ll change YOUR Constitution, your Bill of Rights – he’ll wrap them tighter with the bondage of legaleze and omnipotent ‘interpretation’ (That one ALWAYS burns us.)

Closing?
Your comments are welcome, we need to feel good again about our choices in masters, so if you’ve got comforting thoughts, LMK – or – if you wish to hang our heads together, we’re game. But, write it down, post it, and make plans for making it better.

Gun Industry Needs a Little Help…

Yes, we know the Dems have Congress. Yes, we know folks like Feinstein, McCarthy, Clinton, etc want to erode our passions, our rights. BUT – there is one other detrimental force at work within our industry – POOR customer service and follow through.

What the hell am I talking about?

Over the years I have had the pleasure of dealing with MANY gun manufactures, collectors, parts purveyors, custom shops etc. Unfortunately, I have also dealt with an inordinate amount of companies, builders, vendors etc in the gun industry that simply have NO concept of customer service, follow-through, and absolutely horrid time-frame keeping.

I will NOT name names because despite this, I respect most of these folks. I just wish to illustrate that we are enthralled with a near dying hobby, and internal issues will kill it faster than lefties ever will.

If I order another custom rifle promised on 6-week delivery, and get it in 6 months – I’m going to be furious. No other industry can get away with this. How about you guys/gals who have bought new ‘technology’ for your toys that hasn’t worked, and had no recourse – or worse, placed orders, cash down – and never received the product at all. It simply isn’t acceptable to have your only outlet be to bitch and vent on a forum.

Nearly every industry has perfected this, it’s as old as commerce – deliver what you promise, on time, on budget. PERIOD! If you can’t, don’t advertise it! Do a little bit of business planning instead of winging it part time and half ass.

Anyone who has an opinion is welcome to comment here, but DO NOT slander anyone. Names are not necessary; just let the industry know that we are loyal (to a fault) and that we are bent and trying not to break. And for goodness sake, be crazy dedicated to the vendors that do have it right – make the rest conform or pick a new business. We don’t want the wanna-be’s to destroy this thing we cherish so much.

Class 2 Manufacturer Highlight…

Take a look at the cool product that C&S Metall-Werkes in Missouri is producing. (They are still the only developers of suomi drum conversions THAT WORK!) Their new product, the Krinker Plinker, is one of the coolest Ruger 10/22® conversions ever conceived. It is a solid, quality kit. Take your tame, reliable Ruger and turn it into a nifty krink, perfect for plinking, or training. (See Leroy Thompson’s article on it is SAR.) The price is right, and with a high cap mag or drum, this thing is mega-fun!
